Vision Intelligence's app was primarily a 'view-only' tool, requiring manual, email-based coordination to manage camera schedules and security arming. relying on the operations team created friction and delays for site managers who needed real-time control over their security environments. as the hardware capabilities expanded, the digital interface needed to evolve from a passive monitoring window into a proactive, end-to-end management platform.
defined a north star centred on clarity, control, and confidence in high-stakes operations. this guided both business impact and a phased delivery approach. phase 1 focused on establishing a foundation through single-camera management of scheduling and alarm settings. phase 2 then built on this UX structure, scaling the experience to support site-wide controls and more complex operational needs.
MVP features were defined around scheduling, alarm control, and activity timelines. design and execution ensuring the system could grow in complexity while remaining intuitive.
the product evolved into a more capable, self-service platform, enabling users to manage complex scheduling, alarm control, and activity tracking with minimal reliance on operations support. at the same time, the interface was modernised into a more polished, professional experience through a new design system and dark mode, bringing it in line with current standards and the updated brand.
the outcome was a product built to scale. a flexible foundation that can evolve alongside the company as it grows into larger clients and more complex operational needs. by setting up the right structure early, the platform can support expanding site controls and new capabilities over time, without needing to be reworked — making it far more adaptable for future growth.
